Bio & CV
I grew up on a coffee farm in Kenya, where a close relationship with the Wildlife became an integral part of everyday life. Although I started out my career as a Grip in the commercial world, that love of wildlife was to lead me swiftly to my natural destiny, and I was soon able to pursue my ‘dream’ vocation as a Wildlife Cameraman.
Winning cinematography awards at Jackson Hole and Wildscreen film festivals, my credits include Principal Cameraman on the Large Format Film “Roar Lions of the Kalahari”, BBC’s Natural World “Swamp Cats” and credits as Cameraman on some of the worlds best Natural History programmes including Life, Natures Great Events, Swarm Nature’s Incredible Invasions, Great Rift.
I have filmed on nearly every format available from Imax (65mm), 35mm, 16mm film, the latest Digital Cinema (RED) and High Definition video formats,(SONY, PANASONIC) and also have experience with the latest High Speed HD cameras (PHANTOM, PHOTRON) and Low Light IR technology.
My work has taken me far a field and I have been fortunate enough to film worldwide, often in remote locations, including, Africa, Middle East, USA, South America, Nepal, India and Scandinavia. A large part of my experience and knowledge comes from working in eastern and southern Africa (Kenya, Zambia, Botswana and Tanzania).
And I have a vast knowledge of the African bush and its creatures. My sense of direction is quite extraordinary and I still haven’t lost myself yet!
Below are some pictures of me on various shoots.
