I grew up on a coffee farm in Kenya, where a close relationship with the Wildlife became an integral part of everyday life. Although I started out my career as a Grip in the commercial world, that love of wildlife was to lead me swiftly to my natural destiny, and I was soon able to pursue my ‘dream’ vocation as a Wildlife Cameraman.

I have filmed on most formats from The Biggest (Imax 65mm film) to the smallest remote cameras (Gopro), various hand held gimbals,(Movi/Ronin) aerial drones(DJI),Low Light IR and Thermal Imaging cameras(Selex), Highspeed cameras(Photron,Phantom) and try to use the equipment that will tell the story in the most engaging and informative manner.

I am an independent director in the field, and in addition to my work on wildlife documentaries, I have a large amount of experience in filming actuality. My wildlife skills transfer easily to obs doc situations where things happen very fast and unexpectedly.

Film making, I believe, is a collaborative affair, and I relish the challenge of pulling all the threads together to produce films that are both informative and entertaining.

My work has taken me far a field and I have been fortunate enough to film worldwide, often in remote locations, including, Africa, Middle East, USA, South America, Nepal, India, Japan, The Arctic and Scandinavia. A large part of my experience and knowledge comes from working in eastern and southern Africa (Kenya, Zambia, Botswana and Tanzania).

And I have a vast knowledge of the African bush and it’s creatures.

My sense of direction is quite extraordinary and I still haven’t lost myself yet!
